Just a year since launching the
program, the Center
has already graduated a good number of students from its accelerated MS in WMD
Defense and Counterterrorism. Designed for students pursing careers in federal
and state-level law enforcement, as well as working defense and security professionals,
this collaborative MS degree features courses in: cultural intelligence, chemical,
biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) threats and defense, psychology
of terrorism, economics of political violence and narco-terrorism defense.
Building
much needed human capacity in security and defense, courses are held evenings
and weekends, in an effort to especially accommodate working students. Courses
are taught by expert faculty and supplemented by presentations from
distinguished guest speakers hailing from government, academia and
industry. These experts have a professional background from such
institutions as the FBI, DEA, CIA, NSA, Department of Defense, Department of
Treasury, Department of Justice, Department of State, World Bank, as well as
other federal and international organizations.
