villages through household water filters, empowering widows in India
through sewing micro-enterprise, and availing medical care to the

endeavor, which in the end would make a lasting impact on nations, one person
at a time. It was quite an endearing experience when people from all over the
globe joined Impact Nations's 'Journeys of Compassion' to India, Mexico and the
Philippines, which offered treatment free of cost treatment to over 4,000 -
helped save lives and heal many in pain.
Global research report says that every 15 seconds a child dies from
water-related disease, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene in third world
nations. While more than 1.1 billion people around the world do not have access
to safe drinking water. Statistics reveal that this can turn into a
catastrophe; if insistent action is not taken; leading to the probable death of
135 million people due to water related diseases, by the year 2020.
Impact Nations's initiative to undertake projects for providing clean water
in developing countries was welcomed by all. The team of Impact Nations ensured
that every procedural detail for water filtration projects are executed for
their due establishment in four designated places facing clean drinking water problems - two in India
and two in the Philippines.
In one recent project, Impact Nations has come forward to the aid of the
people of Mindanao, the easternmost island in the Philippines;
where the people of the Typhoon Fengshen hit island are dying from unclean
water consumption. The Impact Nations Team has a proposed plan to provide 6
water filters per day at the cost of USD 40 per unit. Each filter provides
clean water for 35 people; thus reaching out clean water to 1260. Presently,
catering to 7,000 people of 1,000 families, Impact Nations awaits funds to respond
to the plight of the people of Mindanao.
Equally appreciated are the Impact Nations micro-enterprise program for
widows and women-at-risk, by providing them six months instruction and a sewing
machine for 80 women, in a village in Andhra Pradesh, India; thus allowing them
to break out of a poverty and social dejection.
