A joint European-American International Security Masters program

(My Free PR) WASHINGTON, DC, 10 April 2007 – In collaboration with the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP, Catholic Institute of Paris) and the Paris-based Fondation pour la recherche stratégique (Strategic Research Foundation) think tank, the Directorate of Education at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies is proud to announce a joint Masters in International Relations focused on "New Risks and Threats to International Security."

Expanding the Center's global security education initiative by creating specialized educational programs, this Masters degree will be awarded from the ICP's Faculté des Sciences Sociales et Economiques (FASSE, College of Social and Economic Sciences). Students are expected to graduate within a year of an accelerated program featuring joint European-American curricula and expertise, and that builds capacity in critical security needs.

In addition to core courses in "Defining Security 21st Century," "Armed Conflicts and Peace" and "Political Discourse Analysis," students will follow curricula in four concentrations: Stability and Regional Issues, Technological Challenges to International Security, Terrorism and the American-European Comparative Approach, and Countering Threats and Risks. The first cohort is expected to begin in September 2007, according to the French academic calendar.

The Center for Advanced Defense Studies (CADS) is a non-profit, non-governmental national security group that applies the intent-centric paradigm to promote research, innovation and education in the fields of information sciences, cognitive studies and information security.
