Check the Web to See if a Restaurant is Clean

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) October 5, 2006 -- A live mouse swimming in marinade. A fast food employee spraying pesticide in the kitchen near freshly prepared food. Health inspectors see everything, now their inspection reports are available on a new website launched by Garrison Enterprises, Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.

Healthinspections.com provides easy access to health department data bases. By entering a city, state, or zip code, web users can read details of health code violations found at restaurants, hotels and schools across the country.

Healthinspections.com also contains videos and weekly audio-webcasts that feature interviews with inspectors, as well as reactions from restaurant operators who received low sanitation scores.

This week, Healthinspections.com features photos from an illegal meat operation in Oklahoma. Health inspectors put a stop to pork being prepared and sold from a residential garage!

But, the key feature on the site is the ability to search inspection results nationwide.

Garrison Enterprises CEO, Cameron Garrison says, "when you consider that Americans spend nearly half of their weekly food budget eating out, it's critical to know what inspectors are finding in restaurant kitchens. We see this website as a vital public service."

Garrison Enterprises knows all about health inspections. The company has changed the way hundreds of agencies conduct inspections with its innovative product known as the Digital Health Department.

With the Digital Health Department, inspectors use handheld computers during inspections. Their reports are then stored online, which provides easy access to the information for both health departments and the public.

The system has made it possible for health departments to get more inspections done in less time, helping some agencies to catch up on a backlog of inspections at restaurants.

According to Garrison, "we've worked with health departments for the past six years, and we're excited to make inspection reports more readily available to the public through Healthinspections.com."
