NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, UK– August 6th, 2008 – IntruderConsulting, a telecom company based in Mexico, relies on SourceGuardianencryption software to safeguard its VoIP products. Intruder’s aCube software was extremely vulnerable to piracy by clients who hadonly leased the software for a specific term or who had not bought the entiresystem. The PHP files and database could easily be copied to another server.
SourceGuardian secures aCube’sPHP interface to prevent clients from running the application unless they havepurchased the whole system, and it encrypts the PHP files, protecting theprogram by locking it to specific MAC addresses. In order to avoid losingimportant lease revenue, Intruder is preparing to use yet another feature ofSourceGuardian “to ensure that clients who bought the software on a lease termpay their leases on time, or the interface will not work anymore,” saysIntruder Consulting CEO Anton Krall.
SourceGuardian, which won aNorth East UK Export Award in 2004, is now used by thousands of professionalweb developers, programmers and companies worldwide. Adrian Teasdale, founderof Inovica Ltd., the UK company that developed SourceGuardian, says, “We arevery proud to have created a product that assists companies around the world inprotecting their valuable intellectual property.”
Krall says the fact thatSourceGuardian is available in both Windows and Linux versions has beenespecially helpful to his company. “All PHP pre-testing is done under Windowsbefore moving the files to Linux,” he says, “and then, a process encrypts inbatches all the files that require distribution.”
